Plot Summary
Manu (R. Madhavan) is a successful doctor based in London, who comes to India to find a bride for himself. He meets Tanu (Kangana Ranaut), a free-spirited girl who has studied in Delhi, at her hometown Kanpur. He falls in love with her at first sight, but she rejects him outright, as she has no plans of marrying him or anyone else. She also reveals that she has a boyfriend, Raja (Jimmy Shergill), who is a local goon and politician.
Manu decides to move on and meets another girl, Payal (Swara Bhasker), who is Tanu's friend. He likes her and proposes to her, but she tells him that she is already engaged to Jassi (Eijaz Khan), who is Manu's friend. Meanwhile, Tanu realizes that she has feelings for Manu and tries to stop his marriage. She also breaks up with Raja, who vows to take revenge on her and Manu.
The movie follows the hilarious and chaotic events that ensue as Manu and Tanu try to sort out their feelings and deal with their families and foes.
