An Oct. 25 concert in the Ames Town & Gown Chamber Music Association's 2015-16 season features a lineup of Beethoven pieces written for three instruments: piano, cello and violin. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Ames City Hall auditorium. Single-concert tickets this season are $25; through Oct. 25, purchase a season ticket (good for four concerts) for the discounted amount of $85 and receive one complimentary ticket for a guest. All students (K-12 and college students with I.D.) may attend this concert series for free.


Iowa State is participating in the third annual National Bioenergy Day on Oct. 21 (noon-4 p.m., Sukup Atrium, Biorenewables Complex). This free event unites organizations across the country that support bioenergy, and ISU encourages students to attend. You will learn about research, educational, extracurricular and career opportunities related to bioenergy at Iowa State and across Iowa. Participants can earn a free cup of coffee from the ABE's Harvest Café.

Meet former Cyclone wrestler and 2015 NCAA champion Kyven Gadson at the ISU Alumni Association's Cyclone Tailgate on Saturday, Oct. 17 (3-5:30 p.m., ISU Alumni Center). Admission is free. Gadson will meet fans from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Class of 2014 alumni Alex Halsted and Dylan Montz, who co-authored 100 Things Iowa State Fans Should Know and Do Before They Die, will have a book signing from 3 to 5 p.m. Get your copy signed or purchase one there. The registration deadline if you're purchasing the catered meal by Valentino's is Oct. 14.


In honor of Womens History Month, SF State will welcome three Bay Area alumnae for a Women at Work and the Work We Do panel session from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 29. The alumnae will share stories about their work in city and state government and community service while juggling family and other priorities. Moderated by AVP of Human Resources Ingrid Williams, this conversation will include Daly City Mayor Juslyn Manalo; Christine Chilcott, CEO of Girls Inc. of the Island City; and Elmy Bermejo, regional director of Northern California for the Office of the Governor. This event is free for female-identifying, non-binary and women-allied staff, faculty and student leadership at SF State and welcomes persons with disabilities.
